HEMP SEEDS ARE NOT MARIJUANA
There are various misconceptions surrounding hemp, with many people believing that it is the same as marijuana and therefore has an intoxicating effect. However, this is not the case. There is no possibility of becoming intoxicated or feeling any mind-altering effects after consuming hemp.
Both hemp and marijuana are derived from the cannabis plant, but there are two strains of cannabis; cannabis sativa and cannabis indica. Hemp belongs to the cannabis sativa strain and is notably different to the cannabis indica strain. Cannabis indica contains a high concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which leads to intoxication when consumed. Generally, marijuana has a THC level between 5% and 25%, whereas agricultural hemp only has a level of 0.3% or lower. This is so low that it has no effect when consumed and would be undetectable in a drug test.
