Hemp seed is one of the most nutritionally-complete foods on the planet. A single serving of raw hemp seeds (just two heaped tablespoons) provides you with 10 grams of protein and 10 grams of omegas.
It is a complete source of vegan protein, meaning it provides all the amino acids the human body needs.
The seeds also contain an impressive list of other nutrients, including antioxidants, iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium and more!
Hemp has such a wide variety of important health benefit, it's no wonder health experts are calling it a superfood!
It’s high in protein and the nutty taste creates a deliciously smooth drink with a pleasant aftertaste.
With one of the best fatty acid profiles of any plant food, Hemp contains both omega 3 and 6, boasts as much protein as soy and is one of the only known foods to contain vitamin D3!
Are your hemp protein drinks vegan, dairy & gluten free?
Yes they are! Our products are completely free from any wheat or animal matter making making them ethical, sustainable and nutritious additions to your diet.
Hemp latte, hemp matcha and hemp hot chocolate are 98% sugar free. Why aren't they 100% sugar free?
While these products are 100% no added sugar, there are some naturally occurring sugars in hemp that have remained and this results in our 98% sugar free products. These sugars are naturally occurring and are not at all nasty like refined sugar. The absorption of these sugars is also offset by the high amounts of dietary fibre in these products, which is why they're very low on the glycemic index (GI).
Can children drink your hemp products?
Yes, absolutely! In fact, a lot of mums are adding our hemp hot chocolate and latte to their kids' breakfast bowls to give them that sweet morning treat without the sugar high. However, our coffee products do of course contain caffeine, which isn’t recommended for children, and our matcha will contain small amounts of caffeine.
All hemp seed protein drinks contain the natural sweeteners stevia and erythritol. Erythritol is a natural sugar alcohol that has almost zero calories and is virtually carb free. It tastes sweet but isn’t absorbed by the body, which means it doesn’t affect your insulin levels. It’s the second most common non-sugar sweetener after stevia, and is found in almost all low GI products (including Remedy Kombucha).
How is hemp good for the environment?
When hemp grows, it has a remarkable ability to clean the air. In fact, for every tonne of hemp produced, 1.63 tonnes of carbon is removed from the air. This actually makes the growing of hemp crops a carbon negative activity.
Growing hemp also improves the quality of the soil. The stem and leaves of the hemp plant are jam-packed with nutrients so as the plant matures and the seed grows, leaf matter falls to the ground and decomposes replenishing the soil beneath it. And after harvesting, the remnants of the hemp plant can then be returned to the soil to make for a richer yield the following year. Basically, hemp heals the air and the earth while it grows!
