Plastic Free July
Plastic Free July is almost over but has been uppermost in our thoughts at HGA.
Scientists have predicted that by 2050 the tonnage of plastics in the ocean will be greater than the tonnage of fish. Molecules of plastic have been identified in Mothers placentas.
If you believe, as we do, "We don't inherit the earth from our parents but borrow it from our children" then the problem with plastic must not be ignored.
Our passion for Hemp has much to do with the ability of Hemp to provide as sustainable source of industrial raw material to produce biodegradable plastic.
However the infrastructure to produce biodegradable plastic will not be operational in Australia until hemp is grown as a broadacre crop because of the volumes of plastic we consume.
As a journey of even 100 miles starts with a single step we decided to take another step and add to our range of sustainable products a selection of wrapping, storage , packaging and carrying bags that are made to last, are not plastic and are environmentally benign.
Here are some more reusable products that we are loving right now.
"Vote for the Earth with your consumer dollar, it's where the power to change the world waits."
We'd love to hear your thoughts on what you are doing for Plastic Free July, whether you've been doing this for years already, and what tips you'd like to share.
Our friends at Plastic Free July have compiled this amazing video that we've loved watching, check it out below.
